Concrete logistics – from plant to jobsite
Efficient concrete logistics are essential to the success of any construction project. They require comprehensive expertise in transport, dispatching, pumping capacity and jobsite coordination. Ideally, a concrete logistics partner combines regional proximity with the capability to reliably supply not only small construction sites but also complex large-scale projects. Ensuring that all these elements work together seamlessly requires a partner who understands processes, plans ahead and manages every stage of the process chain. A partner like roxit.

How we work with you
Our concrete logistics services are designed to ensure timely, safe and efficient delivery – regardless of project size or industry.
Ordering concrete
Ordering concrete from us is fast, straightforward and – if you choose – fully digital. Simply select the required quantity, delivery time and, if needed, the appropriate pumping solution. All technical details regarding concrete types, strength classes, consistencies, specialty concretes and certifications can be found on our dedicated Concrete products page. There, you can also find out which concrete types are best suited for specific structural elements and applications. We are also happy to provide individual consultation upon request. From a logistics perspective, this means we receive all relevant information upfront, allowing us to tailor transport, dispatching and pumping services precisely to your concrete pour.
Delivery and unloading
Concrete is typically delivered using a 4-axle truck mixer that brings the material directly to the jobsite. The integrated chute allows placement within a radius of up to 2.5 metres behind the vehicle. If the placement point is further away, reach can be extended by several metres using chute extensions, provided there is sufficient height difference. If the placement point is a considerable distance from the unloading point or for hard-to-access placement areas, a concrete pump is the best solution. Our team will be happy to provide advice on choosing the right pumping system for your project.
Pumping service
Successful concrete construction takes more than just the right type of concrete – it requires getting the material to the pouring site safely, quickly and without interruption. That is why we work with experienced pumping contractors to provide the right solution for every jobsite situation.
Our portfolio includes:
- Truck-mounted concrete pumps with distribution booms that can reach up to 62 metres: ideal for long-range applications and challenging site layouts
- Truck mixer pumps: versatile, capable of loading small quantities of concrete, particularly suitable for small to medium-sized concrete pours
- Peristaltic pumps: ideal for confined, winding or hard-to-access areas
- Stationary pumps: for long delivery distances or repeated concrete placement
The benefit for you: we coordinate concrete supply, transport and pumping as one integrated service from a single source. This gives you a single point of contact, clear processes and no friction losses between suppliers, pumping contractors and the jobsite. The result is a predictable, safe concrete pour with no delays and unnecessary downtime.
Delivery area and regional availability
Our concrete logistics system is structured to ensure short transport distances, a high level of supply reliability and the highest quality of fresh concrete. With 116 of our own concrete mixing plants and an extensive network of pumping service providers, we have strong regional roots while fully equipped to handle large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects. Our regional proximity ensures that ready-mix concrete is reliably delivered to your jobsite within the allowable workable time window. At the same time, short transport distances reduce costs, CO₂ emissions and quality risks. Whether it’s an urban construction site, a major project, a large-scale concrete pour or an agricultural facility: we deliver wherever you need us and tailor transport, dispatching and pumping services to local site conditions to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
Sustainability in our concrete logistics operations
Sustainability is a key priority in both our concrete production and logistics operations: local manufacturing, short transport routes and optimised mixer truck dispatching reduce CO₂ emissions throughout the supply chain. Energy-efficient plants, low-CO₂ mix designs and recycled aggregates improve the environmental performance of ready-mix concrete. Project-specific EPD data provides transparency for building certification schemes. Efficient logistics – supported by optimised routing, digital delivery notes and a modern vehicle fleet – avoid empty runs and unnecessary emissions. This allows us to combine economic efficiency with environmental responsibility and deliver concrete with the lowest possible environmental footprint exactly where it is needed.

Get in touch nowFrequently asked questions (FAQ) about concrete pumps and concrete logistics
-
How far can concrete be placed without a pump?
Up to 2.5 metres; with additional chutes up to 6 metres.
-
When do I need a concrete pump?
Whenever the placement point is more than 6 metres away or difficult to access.
-
What is fresh concrete?
Fresh concrete is concrete material immediately after mixing, while it is still plastic, malleable and workable. In this state, it can be pumped, placed, compacted and finished. The properties of fresh concrete, particularly consistency, temperature and workability, must be stable to ensure that the hardened concrete achieves the required strength and durability.
-
What is ready-mix concrete?
Ready-mix concrete is fresh concrete produced at a batching plant and typically delivered to the jobsite in truck mixers. It is produced according to established standards and is subject to defined requirements regarding quality and composition. As concrete has a limited workable time, production, delivery and placement must be precisely coordinated.
-
How long is ready-mix concrete workable?
Ready-mix concrete can only be used for a limited time after production. Rather than a fixed time frame, what matters is that the concrete has the required consistency and quality at the time of delivery or placement. The actual workable time may vary depending on factors such as the use of admixtures (e.g. retarders), weather conditions or project-specific agreements.
-
How can I arrange for concrete delivery?
When concrete is delivered, it is produced directly at a batching plant and then transported to the construction site by a mixer truck. As ready-mix concrete has a limited workable time, production, transport and placement must be precisely coordinated. You specify the quantity, consistency class and delivery time – we handle dispatching, transport and, if required, the appropriate pumping solution.
-
How do concrete dispatching and call-off management work?
Our dispatching team coordinates production, transport and placement of the concrete to ensure that your concrete operations proceed without delay. With our call-off management, we coordinate delivery times, quantities, consistencies and pumping operations precisely with your site management. This minimises waiting times, downtime and quality risks. You specify the call-off, and we ensure that concrete, truck mixers and pump are ready exactly when you need them.
-
How much can a concrete mixer truck carry, and how flexible is its load capacity?
A concrete mixer truck typically carries between 7 and 9 m³ of concrete per load. For larger pours, we deploy multiple vehicles simultaneously or schedule sequential deliveries at short intervals. Thanks to our regional plants and coordinated logistics, we can scale our transport capacity flexibly – from small deliveries to continuous large-scale concrete pours.
-
Can I have concrete delivered on Saturday?
Yes, subject to prior arrangement and regional availability.
-
What is a truck-mounted concrete pump?
Truck-mounted concrete pumps are concrete pumps permanently mounted on a lorry and equipped with a folding distribution boom. With reach distances of up to 62 metres, they enable fast and efficient concrete placement over long distances, which makes them ideal for building construction, bridges, industrial structures and hard-to-access job sites. Thanks to their high performance, truck-mounted concrete pumps are particularly well suited for medium- to large-scale concrete pours.
-
What is a peristaltic pump?
Peristaltic pumps deliver concrete or mortar through a flexible hose without a distribution boom. They are particularly well suited for confined, winding or hard-to-access areas, such as backyards, interior spaces or existing buildings. Peristaltic pumps are commonly used for screed, mortar or fine-grained concrete and are ideal when jobsite space or access is restricted.
