roxit is expanding its bitumen business with a new PmB plant in Planá (CZ)
With the opening of a new plant for polymer-modified bitumen (PmB) in Planá near České Budějovice, roxit is expanding its production capacity in the Czech Republic. The site will improve supplies to customers and asphalt mixing plants in South Bohemia, Austria and neighbouring regions.
A strategic investment with a long-term vision
The newly built plant is the second production facility of its kind in the Czech Republic. roxit has been producing polymer-modified bitumen grades at its Bruntál site since 2016. With the new plant, the company is responding to rising demand and further expanding its market presence in the region. The key factors in choosing the location were the excellent infrastructure, the proximity to the Austrian border and the high market potential. The site improves the supply of high-quality bitumen products and promotes cooperation between the roxit companies in the Czech Republic and Austria.
Modern technology for high-performance building materials
In the new plant, conventional bitumen is enhanced by the addition of special polymers. This results in reliable bitumen products with greater elasticity, improved resistance to extreme temperatures and a significantly longer service life. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art production and storage technology, its own laboratory for quality assurance, and modern work and social areas for staff and lorry drivers. Safety, efficiency and compliance with current environmental standards were the key priorities during the planning and construction phases.
The production facility was officially commissioned during a grand opening ceremony attended by representatives from roxit, local decision-makers and numerous guests. The state-of-the-art PmB plant paves the way for further growth in the bitumen business and strengthens roxit’s position as a reliable partner for high-quality bitumen solutions in Central and Eastern Europe.
